Elements and Tools Tab
The Elements & Tools tab contains controls to add elements or features to your web page.
| Who can edit | This is used to control editor access to this web page. You can allow other individuals or groups to edit this web page by adding there exact login username or group name in here. In practise, you can ignore this field, as the system will automatically place GBL Web Masters in here and Country Web Editors. |
| Page style sheet | This is used to select which Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) is in use on your page. A CSS is used to assign display attributes to text, tables or element layers. You don't need to adjust the CSS unless you are an advanced user. The WebBench web site has a CSS defined which is called 'main.css'. |
| Use page redirect | This is used to determine whether this page is used as a redirection to another page or link. If you select 'yes', then many of the preceeding fields options will be removed and further Re-Direction choices will become available. Note: you cannot turn a Page Type = 'Linked Page' into a Re-Direct page. |
| Page is RSS enabled? | Select yes to have this page enabled in RSS Feeds - on refresh you will be able to edit your RSS Feed information in the RSS Page Summary area. |
| Insert Page layout | This is used to select a default page layout template within the editor that you would like to utilise. If there is a page layout template that you have created or use regulary, then we can easily insert this page template as an extra choice in here. ( Send the HTML code for the Page Layout Template to WebBench ITS). |
| White-space around content | This is used to select how much white-space you want between the site frame work and the centre content area. You can vary this between 1-20. (Default is 5 - ask WebBench ITS if you wish to change the default). |
| Show Back link? | This is used to select if you want a Back link on the page. ( ) |
| Show Print link? | This is used to select if you want a Print link on the page. ( ) |
| Show Last Edit? | This is used to select if you want show Last WebPage Edit date details on the bottom of the WebPage. |
| Use DocID to generate links | This is used to select if you want to use DocID to generate any site links for this Web Page. This is important if you find that you have 2 pages within the system using the same Page Name, (within each country site), or if there is some problem refering to the Page Name within the URL address bar, (e.g., the Page Name may contain an unusual character ). |
| Show page link in sitemap | This is used to select if you want this page to be shown in the sitemap. |
| Show Source only in edit mode? | This is used to select if you are an advance user and would like to use source mode to edit this page. This will turn off the Editor control and allow you to edit the HTML directly. (E.g., this may be important for utilising various JavaScript? commands within HTML that you don't want activate whilst editing the page). |
